Several potential opportunities exist for post-doctoral work in the Stinchcombe lab. I encouarge all interested applicants to get in touch with me, so that we can discuss research interests, potential projects, and funding options (NIH, NSF, NSERC). Toronto is a diverse, multi-ethnic, tolerant, cosmopolitan, safe and friendly city, and there is a strong, interactive group of ecologists, geneticists, and evolutionary biologists in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Toronto.
I am interested and willing to write grants with prospective post-doctoral candidates to the appropriate funding agencies, and am more than happy to offer advice and feedback on fellowship applications.
The following potential funding sources are good starting points:
• I am always interested in potential post-docs. Please contact me.
• The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology sponsors Post-Doctoral Fellowships as part of a departmental program. Full details on the program, the application process, and time-table can be found here.
• For Canadian citizens and permanent residents, post-doctoral fellowships are available from NSERC Canada. More information on application deadlines and details can be found here.
• For those that are able to tap into the U.S. National Science Foundation, several potential fellowship programs exist:
Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships in Biology
International Research Fellowship Program
• The U.S. National Institutes of Health also offers post-doctoral research fellowships, through the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA). These fellowships are available to U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents.
